This weekend we were asked a simple question and yet a very valid one as everyone is trying to understand the process of a missionary family raising support.
question: “Is there any monthly support amount that is too small?
We then asked ourselves, is this a question that many have been asking themselves??
Maybe thinking that to be a monthly support partner they had to give a certain amount?
We were so glad that she asked…as we too are thankful for each of the questions asked about how to give, what we need, and all of them in between.
Right now our focus is primarily on our monthly need. While we do have a one-time need, it is exactly that…something needed one time to get us through language study, to Africa, and set up to serve there.
With those who have already joined our ministry, this one-time account has been growing and half of this need has already been met. We praise God for this and continue to pray that He will provide for our one-time need as well as our monthly need.
Right now we are at 52% of our monthly need!! This is amazing and such a blessing to us as we see who God is asking to join our team and “go” to Africa through us and the ministry He is calling our family to!
We have shared at different times how getting our support to 100% will enable us to leave for the field. When we get the okay from SIM to leave we do need to be fully supported. But before this, there are things we need to do to reach the goal of answering the “go” part of our call.
While giving a monthly amount right away helps build up the account for our one-time need, we can get the go ahead for the next few steps when we meet certain percentages—–even by monthly pledges.
What does this mean??
Well, if you feel the Lord laying it on your heart to “go” share the good news of the gospel through our ministry in Africa, but can’t give right away…..you can pledge a monthly amount and help us reach our goal!!
You can pledge the amount the Lord asks you to give and then start your giving by the time we leave the States. This pledge counts towards the 100% we need and helps us plan for the next few months and on from there.
Please let us know if the Lord has been asking you to join our team!! You can email us or facebook message us that you would like to pledge a certain amount and when you may be able to start giving.
To start in the next language study we need to see our Building for Christ team grow till we are fully supported and we are asking you to pray with us.
~Please pray that the Lord would work in many hearts and lead them to join His work in Mali.
~Please ask God if wants you to consider joining this work and what amount He would want you to give.
Someone asked if we would rather one person give for the whole amount needed and our answer is no….we are blessed beyond words to have the opportunity to have a team made up of many people and to have so many praying for us as we extend the hands and the feet of the team to Africa.
Thank you to all those who are Building for Christ!! And thank you to those who will ask God if He wants them to join this team…through $10 a month, $100 a month, and every amount in between. We thank you for sacrificing and giving to the Lord and that He chooses to give your gifts to our ministry for His use.
Matthew 25:34-40
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
